Basisbook

Privacy policy

Basisbook is a static information site. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, we don't sell your data, and we never ask for anything sensitive. Here is exactly what happens.

This policy explains what Basisbook collects and why. It is written to be read, not to be hidden behind. In short: we run a static site, we do not require an account, and we never ask for wallet addresses, private keys, or tax details. Last updated October 9, 2026.

What we collect

We use Google Analytics to measure which pages are read; the next section spells out what that involves. Our host records standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running, as almost all websites do. If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can reply and follow up. The newsletter box on some pages is a front-end placeholder for now; if and when it is connected to a provider, we will only use an address you enter to send the updates you asked for, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Google Analytics, cookies and your choice

Our analytics provider is Google Analytics 4, from Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. For each visit it captures the pages viewed, the referring site, an approximate city- or country-level location, the device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so none of this feeds advertising, and we never sell it.

Two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, support the measurement and last up to two years. They are not set until analytics is allowed.

Visitors in Europe (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, as indicated by the time zone their device reports) are asked first through a banner; unless you click Accept, nothing is sent to Google. For visitors elsewhere, analytics is on by default, with the option to turn it off at any time. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal are treated as opted out. The choice itself lives in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent — it is not a cookie.

Use Cookie settings to reopen the banner and change your analytics choice. Google's handling of the data is covered by Google's privacy policy, and Google provides an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

Some outbound links are affiliate links that pass through a /go/ redirect on our own domain before sending you to the tool. When you follow one and sign up, that provider may set its own cookies and record that the referral came from us, which is how any commission is tracked. That process is run by the provider under its own privacy policy, not ours. Our affiliate disclosure explains the commercial side in full.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not ask for, want, or store sensitive financial data — no wallet addresses, no exchange logins, no tax numbers. Please never send those to us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete any personal data we hold about you; email us and we will help. Because tax and privacy rules differ by country and change over time, this policy may be updated, and any material change will be reflected on this page with a new date.
